How Shelfly Works

Shelfly is the marketplace for renting shelf space in retail stores. Whether you want to place your products in a store or earn income from unused display space, here's how to get started.

For Vendors

Place your products in retail stores

1

Browse Available Spaces

Search the Shelfly marketplace by location, store category, and space size. View photos, dimensions, and pricing for retail shelf space and display areas near you.

2

Select Your Space

Open an available Flat Fee listing to review interior photos, exact dimensions, daily pricing, and any weekly or monthly discounts.

3

Book with Confidence

Submit a booking request and enter your card details. Your card is authorized (funds reserved) but not charged yet — you only pay if the store accepts your request.

4

Start Selling

Once the store confirms your booking, your card is charged and you're set. Set up your display and start reaching new customers in a physical retail environment.

For Store Owners

Earn income from available display space

1

List Your Space

Create a free listing for your available shelf, display, or floor space. Upload photos, set your daily price, and specify dimensions. Flat Fee booking is available now; consignment is coming soon.

2

Receive Booking Requests

Vendors browse your listing and submit booking requests with their business details and preferred dates. You'll receive an email notification for each new request.

3

Confirm or Decline

Review each request and accept the ones that are a good fit for your store. Vendor cards are automatically charged when you confirm — no chasing payments.

4

Get Paid

Connect and finish Stripe onboarding with both charges and payouts enabled. Payouts are deposited after a confirmed booking; Shelfly retains a 10% platform fee.

How Payments Work

Authorization at Booking

When you submit a booking request, your card is authorized — funds are reserved, not charged. An authorization is temporary and can expire before the store responds.

Charged on Confirmation

Your card is charged only if the store captures payment while the authorization is valid. If declined or cancelled before capture, the authorization is released. A cancellation after capture is not an automatic refund.

Automatic Payouts

Store owners receive 90% of the rental amount, deposited directly to their connected bank account. Shelfly retains a 10% platform fee to support the service.

Authorization windows are set by the payment network and card issuer and may vary. If the authorization expires before capture, the payment can no longer be collected under that hold. Review booking dates and coordinate promptly with the store.
